SHOW PREVIEW in the form of study, outcome of the ARTISTIC RESIDENCE Funaro (February 2015) Friday 27 and Saturday, February 28, 2015 h. 21:00 Cuocolo / BOSETTI IRAA Melbourne Theatre / Vercelli MM & M Movies, monstrosities, and Masks directed Renato Cuocolo
Roberta Bosetti
This new work of Cuocolo / Bosetti, which premiered at Funaro, in the form of study, after a month of residence, is first of all the movie theater but also an autobiography: a visual experience that goes beyond the code of the stage.
The stories of others, movies, television, books, pictures, together with our parents have pulled up, we were entertained, comforted, cheated, disciplined and they told us what we could and what could not be done. It played an important role in transforming us, not a person, but in all people good or bad that we received through what we have read, seen and heard. We have a theater in the head. Cuocolo / Bosetti
MM & M draws on a narrative that builds on those film clips that almost unconsciously have accompanied us in our lives. High culture and popular culture mixed together in search of the construction of an imaginary biography, based on cuts and plans film. Excerpts of films, in words, music, images that we have built in personal and collective, tint example of black and white or warm colors of the fifties and sixties, the golden age of the portrait as cinofilia.Un another. MM & M questioning identity and the nature of each artificial autobiography. Starting from autobiographical elements addresses the relationship reality / fiction and the ambiguous relationship between actor / person and character. There is an autobiography of us as viewers. The film is a piece of life of each viewer. And the closing credits, the lights come back on in the hall mark the end of a fragment of existence experienced watching a screen. In our autobiography as spectators cinema represents a new dimension of experience. A place where the fantastic becomes plausible, indeed daily. There is a homology between cinema and mind and it is clear that the relationship is with the unconscious. The cinema is a machine of ghosts. That of the past that comes back, the uncanny. The repeatability of the images and their perishable nature. At the center, in depth the image of death. On the screen there is something that never ceases to die, a time constrained in the flow of the film. At the same time the film is death at work: 24 frames per second on the face of the actors. Masks and monstrosity.

Theatre and Domesticity. The Theatre in homes
The workshop is open to anyone, professional or not, who wish to deepen the play in an intimate space dimension, as the house.
In early 2000 Renato Cuocolo and Roberta Bosetti begin to work in their home in Melbourne, creating a theatrical innovation that led them to present their work in 26 countries around the world with great attention of critics and public success. The theater of Cuocolo and Bosetti is an overlapping of reality / fiction, actor / character, life / theater. The workshop addresses the mechanisms dramaturgical interpretation and organizational measures for the development of the “theater outside the theater” and intends to deepen from a theoretical point of view and the various technical and practical implications that such work entails. Use the means to get home the reality within the theatrical creation. The house is not a scene but a trap for the reality. The house as a place performative is an intuition that acts on the theater as a subtraction. Renato Cuocolo and Roberta Bosetti have long worked in theaters Italian, 1978-1998 work between Italy and Australia, the Piccolo in Milan at Valle in Rome, by the Arts Centre in Melbourne Sydney Opera House, to arrive, through a process of subtraction in 2000 at the theater as well as understand it today: an overlapping of reality / fiction, actor / character, life / theater.
A house, a ‘actress, viewers who become guests and the real possibility of a meeting. Cost € 170 € 135 members Funaro
